KUALA LUMPUR: The Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) is expected to announce incentives for the development of halal parks and products during the World Halal Forum 2008 next month.
The incentives, which are part of the Halal Industry Masterplan, aimed to attract investors to the halal parks as well as other potential sectors in a move to develop Malaysia as the global halal hub, said HDC general manager, industry development, Dr Nor Azman Ngah.
“We are now finalising (details of the incentives) with the Economic Planning Unit. We are going to announce them during the forum,” he told reporters at a media briefing here yesterday.
