Malaysia hopes halal standard to be adopted by other nations

MALAYSIA hopes to expand the adoption of halal standard that is in use in the country to other nations including member nations of the Organisation of Islamic Conference.
Minister of international Trade and Industry Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the Malaysian halal standard is now also certified and used in countries such as Australia, New Zealand and China.

This strengthens Malaysia’s efforts to turn the country into international halal hub, he said.

He was speaking to reporters after inspecting the last minute preparation for the upcoming 5th Malaysia International Halal Showcase here today.
